A geotechnical investigation was conducted, involving exploratory drilling and penetration testing, to assess the subsurface conditions relevant to the design of foundations for new buildings and structures as part of the expansion of Kalamata Airport .

The study area was divided into three separate sections, corresponding to the following developments:

(a) New Terminal,

(b) Expansion of the aircraft parking apron, and

(c) Expansion of the landside area.
